Coming off an impressive showing in her UFC debut, Yazmin Jauregui has been matched to face Istela Nunes for the promotion’s December 3rd event. News of the booking was confirmed Wednesday by a report from Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
The strawweight bout is joining a card from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, USA later this year.
Jauregui made her UFC debut in August against Iasmin Lucindo. The close brawl saw Jauregui work three rounds to earn a unanimous decision over Lucindo in the end.
The victory moved Jauregui’s record of a flawless nine wins since her debut in 2018. Most of her previous appearances came in notable promotion Combate Global.
Nunes is still hunting for her first UFC victory. She lost her promotional debut in October 2021, suffering a submission loss to Ariane Carnelossi. Her last appearance was in April, when Sam Hughes picked up a majority decision victory against her.
