After putting on a “Fight of the Year” contender this summer, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira will meet for the second time to close out 2022.
The pair are set to rematch at UFC 282 on December 10th, per a report from John Morgan. The fight is joining a card that will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Prochazka became champion with his first performance over Teixeira in June. Their all-out brawl came to an end with just 28 seconds left in the final round, as Prochazka was able to submit Teixeira with a rear naked choke.
The fight was just Prochazka’s third appearance since joining the UFC roster. His prior fights in the promotion saw him stop Volkan Oezdemir and finish Dominick Reyes in the main event of a card.
Teixeira will have the chance to regain champion status in December.
Teixeira first earned his belt with a second-round submission of Jan Blachowicz in October 2021. That victory was the culmination of a six-fight winning streak that first started in 2019.
His run as champion was quite short, not being able to defend his belt once before dropping it to Prochazka.
