Janet Todd Edges Scorecards To Become New ONE Atomweight Muay Thai Champ

Janet Todd became the third ONE Atomweight (115 lbs) Kickboxing Champion on Friday, getting a split decision victory over Stamp Fairtex.

The win headlined ONE Championship’s “King of the Jungle” show, which took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

The extremely close five-round matchup saw both fighters have a fast pace of strikes throughout.

“I knew it was a close fight … I’m just so happy,” Todd said in an emotional post-fight interview.

Defeating Stamp, Todd avenged a Muay Thai loss that happened in early 2019.

Stamp is still the promotion’s Atomweight Muay Thai champion, and has been recently competing more often in MMA bouts as well.

The co-main event of the evening saw Sam-A Gaiyanghadao defeat Rocky Ogden to become the first ONE Strawweight Muay Thai Champion.

The show did not have a live crowd due to an outbreak of COVID-19, informally known as the coronavirus.
