Taneisha Tennant won a one-night bantamweight tournament on Friday at Invicta FC’s “Phoenix Series 3” event. The win was at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, USA.
Tennant beat Taylor Guardado in the grand finals via unanimous decision after three rounds of battle. In the rounds before, Tennant got a decision win against Brittney Victoria and Serena DeJesus. Those fights were one-round fight.
“I couldn’t plan this out any differently,” said Tennant after the fight.
Guardado was making her debut as a professional, last fighting as an amateur eight years before.
In the main event of the show, Lisa Verzosa and Julija Stoliarenko fought for the vacant Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship.
Tennant called out whoever wins the belt in the main event, saying “I’m going to sit back with some popcorn, watch the main event. Enjoy those few months while you have the title, whoever wins tonight, because I’m coming.”
Tennant moved to 3-0 as a professional fighter after the evening of competition.
