Jose Aldo Out of UFC 250, Replaced By Dominick Cruz In Title Fight Against Henry Cejudo

Henry Cejudo’s first UFC Bantamweight Championship defence at UFC 250 has seen a change of opponent, with Jose Aldo dropping out of the picture due. Per a report by Ana Hissa and Raphael Marinho of Combate, the replacement opponent will be Dominick Cruz.

The Combate report describes that Aldo will not be able to compete at UFC 250 due to the travel restrictions placed on Brazil amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Cruz last fought in 2016 where he lost his UFC Bantamweight Championship to Cody Garbrandt. He has been battling injuries since, with two fights being cancelled citing injury.

Cejudo last fought in June, stopping Marlon Moraes to win the vacant UFC Bantamweight Championship.

The pay-per-view event is set for May 9th. It was originally meant to take place at Sao Paulo, Brazil, however the location will be changed.

In the co-main event of the show, Amanda Nunes is set to make her UFC Featherweight Championship on the line for the first time against Canadian prospect Felicia Spencer.
