After it was reported on Thursday that Ian Heinisch would not fight on UFC 250, plans have changed, and he is now back on in his fight versus Gerald Meerschaert. On Thursday night, Damon Martin of MMA Fighting reported that the fight was put back on.
Reported by Aaron Bronsteter of TSN, what originally forced Heinisch off the card was a precaution, as one member of his corner tested positive for COVID-19.
In the process of finding a new match, UFC put Anthony Ivy in to face Meerschaert. While that match has been scrapped, the plan is to still give Ivy a UFC shot in the future.
Ivy amassed eight wins over 10 fights in regional MMA, and currently rides a five-fight winning streak.
In the main event of UFC 250, which takes place on Saturday, is Amanda Nunes putting her UFC Featherweight Championship on the line against Felicia Spencer.
