Strong performances from Cody Garbrandt, Sean O’Malley, Aljamain Sterling and Alex Perez earned them an extra $50,000 on top of paychecks for their fights at UFC 250.
Co-main event win Cody Garbrandt was almost guaranteed a performance bonus right after his fight, connecting with a monstrous right hook to knock out Raphael Assuncao. The win saw the former UFC Bantamweight Champion break a three-fight skid.
Putting himself up next for a bantamweight title shot, Aljamain Sterling stopped Cory Sandhagen early with a rear naked choke. Choking out the fellow contender, Sterling got his fifth-straight UFC win.
Kicking off the preliminary card was “Sugar” Sean O’Malley, who stopped UFC veteran Eddie Wineland in the second minute of action. A right-cross dropped Wineland cold, giving O’Malley a walk-off win in his fourth UFC appearance.
Perez was the lowest fighter on the card to get a performance bonus, performing third on the billing for the show. His win came against Jussier Formiga, getting the victory by chipping away with calf kicks throughout the first round. The competition was stopped just after four minutes.
The performance bonuses were unveiled during the UFC 250 post-fight press conference, which can be viewed on Youtube.
