Miranda Maverick won’t be having her UFC debut on Saturday, as her bout scheduled against Mara Romero Borella has been removed from the show. The news was first broken by Raphael Marinho of Combate, who does not know the exact reason why Maverick withdrew.
The promotion now looks for a last-minute fighter to step in and fight Romero Borella. The flyweight looked to break a three-fight losing streak this weekend. Her last fight was a loss to Cortney Casey in May via armbar.
For the time being at least, UFC’s Saturday night event has been limited to 10 fights. The show, which is set to take place from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, is headlined by lightweights Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier. Here’s the card as it stands currently.
