Titan FC 61: Sabatello vs. Ramos Preview

While a large of regional MMA promotions have a return date set, Titan FC is one of the few that has already checked that off their list. On Friday, Titan FC will return for the second time since the start of COVID-19, presenting “Titan FC 61: Sabatello vs. Ramos.”

The card is the first in a while that has one of their MMA belts on the line, as Danny Sabatello and Raymond Ramos look to win the vacant bantamweight belt. Along with the fight is four other fights scheduled on the card. Set to happen at the Intercontinental Hotel & Resort Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida, USA, let’s take a look at Titan FC’s show.

Main Card (8:00PM EDT) (UFC Fight Pass)

Bout 1: Collin Lubberts (4-1) vs. Irvin Jones (3-1) (Welterweight)

Kicking off the card will be a bout between welterweights Collin Lubberts and Irvin Jones. Lubberts has fought twice in Titan FC before, with a 1-1 record in the promotion. His most recent fight was a win, stopping Katemael Pierre in the first round. Jones will be making his Titan FC debut in hopes to bounce back from his last fight, a loss to Perry Stargel in May of 2019.

Bout 2: Christian Ynastrilla (5-1) vs. Philip Keller (2-4) (Flyweight)

After a successful promotional debut in December, Christian Ynastrilla will return to Titan FC to fight Philip Keller on this card. Ynastrilla’s win in the Winter over Jon Arce came via decision, moving his winning streak to two-in-a-row. He’s fought since 2017, with an early fight in his career happening in Bellator. Keller went to 0-3 to start his MMA career, getting two wins after. Losing his last fight to Danny Sabatello via punches, Keller will look to improve on his 2-4 record and earn his first Titan FC win.

Bout 3: Victor Dias (6-2) vs. Cleveland McLean (12-8) (Flyweight)

Victor Dias has a tough challenge in his fight, as he faces the most experienced fighter on the card Cleveland McLean. Dias has fought mostly on the Brazilian regional MMA scene, although he’s appeared once in Titan FC before, losing via decision in 2018 to Gustavo Balart. McLean’s last promotion appearance was recently, stopping Desmond Moore with a knee in the first minute of his fight back in February. The flyweight will move his streak of wins to three-in-a-row if he wins on Friday.

Bout 4: Landon Stewart (4-1-1) vs. Geralbert Castillo (4-1) (Lightweight)

The well-documented career of Landon Stewart continues on Friday as he is matched against Geralbert Castillo. Five of Stewart’s six professional fights have happened in Titan FC, meaning a large portion of his career has been easy to access through internet broadcasts. On a two-fight winning streak, all of his wins thus far have come via stoppage. He faces Castillo, who will make his first appearance in Titan FC. His debut was first slated for February against Bruce Lutchmedial, however, that did not happen. His last win was a second-round stoppage over Sergio Sosa.

Bout 5: Danny Sabatello (7-1) vs. Raymond Ramos (5-3) (Vacant Titan FC Bantamweight Championship)

In the main event of the evening, Danny Sabatello takes a quick turnaround to fight Raymond Ramos for the Titan FC Bantamweight Championship. The belt was formerly held by Irwin Rivera, who vacated the belt after getting the call-up to the UFC in May.

Sabatello was on Titan FC’s returning show in May, getting an arm triangle choke win over Chris Johnson. He had previously went 1-1 in the promotion, with a failed title shot against Rivera last December, being stopped by strikes in the fourth round.

Ramos has been successful in his two Titan FC outings with wins over Alberto Blas and Kenny Porter II. Also in 2019 was a first-minute win over Luis Marquez in regional promotion MMA Live.

Should a winner be crowned on Friday, Titan FC will have six current champions, with four weight classes having vacant belts still.
