UFC Fight Night: Mickey Gall vs. Mike Perry Play-by-Play

The co-main event of UFC’s “Fight Night” saw “Platinum” Mike Perry fight Mickey Gall in a welterweight battle. Here’s how it went.

Bout 9: Mickey Gall (6-2) vs. Mike Perry (13-6) (Welterweight)

Both fighters were swinging hard punches early, although much of it did not connect. They clinched for a moment in the second minute. Gall landed some good single shots deeper into the round. Eventually, Perry was just walking down Gall who was circling the octagon. Perry caught a leg kick in the fourth minute for a slam takedown. Perry got on the back of Gall on the ground. Perry flipped into half guard, trying for an arm triangle choke for a minute. Gall stayed on the ground until the round ended.

Perry got a takedown in the second minute of the second round. Gall eventually escaped the position, getting back to the feet with a minute to go. Gall got hurt late in the round being dropped by punches from Perry. Perry got on top of Gall in full mount landing some elbows before the round ended.

Perry was landing good single punches in the third round. Gall seemed much more tired than Perry. Perry got a takedown with two minutes left in the round. He moved into half guard quickly. He went from side control into full mount with a minute left. Gall was able to get out of the position in the final few moments. Perry went back down, where Gall tried for a triangle choke for a moment before the fight ran out of time. The judges gave the fight to Perry (29-28, 29-28 & 29-28).

RESULT: Mike Perry def. Mickey Gall via Decision, Unanimous
