Malcolm Gordon will get his first UFC assignment on July 18th, stepping in for Tagir Ulanbekov in a matchup against Alexsander Doskalchuk. First reported by Aaron Bronsteter of TSN, the matchup joins the card scheduled to happen at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Gordon, a Canadian fighter, currently has a four-fight winning streak that he obtained in Canadian MMA promotion TKO. His UFC fight will be somewhat of a layoff, as he last competed in April of 2019.
Doskalchuk, a former M-1 Flyweight Champion, will also be making his UFC debut. Similar to Gordon, Doskalchuk hasn’t fought in a while, having last competed in November of 2011.
The main event of the July 18th card is scheduled to be a rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez for the vacant UFC Flyweight Championship. The 12-fight card looks like this.
