American Top Team coaches Mike Brown and Gabriel de Oliviera have tested positive for COVID-19, per a report from Marcelo Barone and Raphael Marinho of Combate.
Due to the positive tests, Brown and Oliveira will not be able to corner American Top Team fighter Jorge Masvidal on Saturday in his championship bout. Masvidal is currently set to headline pay-per-view event UFC 251, fighting Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship.
Brown, a former MMA fighter, last competed in 2013, losing to Steven Siler in the first round. He is currently the head trainer at American Top Team, one of the top MMA promotions.

The state of Florida has reported a massive spike in COVID-19 cases recently. Their highest number of new cases within one day was reported on July 4th, reporting 10,059. The state saw 6,336 new cases on Monday.
Many MMA fighters from Florida have tested positive recently, including Gilbert Burns, who was taken off of this Saturday’s UFC 251 main event due to the test result.
Other fighters like Aung La N Sang and Pedro Munhoz have also tested positive.
