Alhassan had Lazzez backing up against the cage early on due to punches. Lazzez was throwing some knees to the head. Alhassan continued to throw head punches that had him shelling up for a moment. The fast pace that Alhassan started with slowed down eventually. Lazzez had more of a chance to throw his shots later in the round due to Alhassan slowing down. Lazzez got a takedown to finish the round.
A flurry from Lazzez in the second round saw Alhassan back up against the cage while shelling up. He eventually responded and stopped the unanswered series of strikes from Alhassan. Lazzez got a takedown with three minutes to go in the round. Lazzez landed a knee to the body from side control. Under a minute after they went down, the referee stood them up due to inactivity. The fighters took turns throwing strikes. Lazzez got a takedown after a combination of punches and elbows. They were stood up again in the final minute at Lazzez was in side control.
Lazzez connected with a knee to the body before Alhassan clinched up. Alhassan got a takedown in the second minute, but Lazzez got to his feet shortly after. Alhassan pulled guard in the third minute has he tried for a guillotine choke from bottom position. Lazzez escaped the position, going from half guard into side control. He scored with a knee to the body and an elbow to the head. They stood up with 10 seconds left in the fight. A unanimous decision went to Lazzez (30-27, 30-27 & 29-28).
