On the preliminary card for UFC’s show on Saturday lightweights Davi Ramos and Arman Tasrukyan battle. Here’s how the fight panned out.
Bout 2: Davi Ramos (10-3) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (14-2) (Lightweight)
Tasyukyan was quick to start putting together combinations of strikes in the fight. Ramos landed a good counter-punch a minute into the fight. Ramos caught Tsarukyan in an attempt for a takedown in the second minute, but was not able to. Ramos entered a clinch in the third minute, although Tsarukyan got a takedown, getting top position in full guard. Tsarukyan landed some punches from the top position. They returned to the feet with 30 seconds left in the round.
A striking battle at the start of the second round saw Tsarukyan out-strike Ramos. Tsarukyan got a double leg takedown halfway through the round. After threatening a kneebar, Ramos was able to escape the position and get back on the feet. Ramos stopped a takedown in the fourth minute. Tsarukyan continued with clean kicks and punches on the feet.
The striking battle continued to favour Tsarukyan in the third round. A pause came in the first minute as Tsarukyan had to adjust his cup. Tsarukyan landed a left hook a minute into the third round that hurt Ramos. Tsarukyan defended a takedown in the fourth minute of this fight. A cut around the right eye of Ramos developed in the round, with a pause happening eventually so a doctor could look at it. They clinched in the final minute, with Ramos pulling guard while trying for a guillotine choke. Tsarukyan escaped the choke and took full guard in top position. They went to their feet before the round ran out of time. The judges all selected Tsarukyan as the winner (30-27, 30-27 & 29-28).
RESULT: Arman Tsarukyan def. Davi Ramos via Decision, Unanimous
