On Thursday evening, Titan FC returned with a six-fight card from the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida, USA. In the main event, welterweights Trent McCown and Jared Gooden battled. Follow along for the live coverage.
Bout 4: Trent McCown (8-4) vs. Jared Gooden (16-4) (Welterweight)
Gooden Stops McCown In The Second
In the main event, Jared Gooden stopped Trent McCown with strikes in the second round. An extended period of unanswered strikes from Gooden saw the end of the fight, with the referee eventually stepping in and ending the fight.
While McCown shot for a few takedowns over the two-round battle, the entirety of the fight was contested on the feet.
The win was the third straight for Gooden, who got his two previous wins in the streak with choke stoppage victories. The fight was his first win for Gooden in Titan FC, as his two fights in the promotion before were losses.
Muhammed Usman Announced For August 28th
Before the main event, it was announced that Muhammed Usman will fight on the next Titan FC card on August 28th. His alst three fights came in Titan FC, all being wins.
Bout 3: Josh Augustine (4-1) vs. Muhammadjon Naimov (4-0) (Featherweight)
Naimov Stops Augustine With Leg Kicks
A leg kick win went to Muhammad Naimov in the co-main event, stopping Josh Augustine. Augustine was dropped in the second round with leg kicks, tapping out on the ground quickly after.
Naimov got in Augustine’s face after the fight and shouted at him until people pulled them apart.
“Just have some respect, be humble. Don’t be like f*****g [Conor] McGregor,” said Naimov after the fight.
Tensions between the fighters seemingly calmed down shortly after.
The win kept Naimov undefeated, giving him his fifth consecutive win.
Bout 2: Gustavo Genao vs. Calvin Glover (Kickboxing Bout) (Featherweight)
Genao Wins Kickboxing Debut
Gustavo Genao won his kickboxing debut in the second bout, stopping Calvin Glover in the second round with a body kick. The knockdown in the second round was the third of the fight, ending the fight due to Glover not making the 10 count done by the referee.
The fight was also the debut for Glover, who had competed in MMA bouts in Titan FC before. His advantage in the fight was his height and reach advantage.
“I trained for eight weeks straight,” said Genao after the fight.
Bout 1: Lee Lilly (6-4) vs. Alex Rojas (5-7) (Welterweight)
Lilly Wins Move To Welterweight
Kicking off the show, Lee Lilly got a stoppage win over Alex Rojas in the first round. Rojas was dropped three times in the round due to an accumulation of leg kicks.
The fight saw Lilly snap a two-fight losing streak, with his two fights before being at the lower weight class of lightweight.
“My downfall was making that 30-pound cut to 155,” said Lilly in his post-fight interview.
