Titan FC 62: McCown vs. Gooden Play-by-Play

Bout 1: Lee Henry Lilly def. Alex Rojas via TKO, Leg Kicks (RD 1, 4:01)

Bout 2: Gustavo Genao def. Calvin Glover via KO, Body Kick (RD 2, 1:47) (Kickboxing Bout)

Bout 3: Muhammad Naimov def. Josh Augustine via Submission, Leg Kicks (RD 2, 0:22)

Bout 1: Lee Lilly (6-4) vs. Alex Rojas (5-7) (Welterweight)

Rojas came forward with jabs early on as Lilly responded with leg kicks and overhand punches. Rojas clinched in the fourth minute, although Lilly was quick to shove him off. Leg kicks were hurting Rojas, dropping him later in the fourth minute. He was dropped again moments after, with Lilly allowing him to get up. After being dropped for the fourth time, the fight ended.

Bout 2: Gustavo Genao vs. Calvin Glover (Kickboxing Bout) (Featherweight)

The height and reach advantage that Glover had was apparent early on. Halfway through the first round, Genao charged at Glover with a flurry of strikes that dropped him. Genao landed one while Glover was down, which caused the referee to warn him after the knockdown was scored. A right hand landed by Genao in the last minute which was ruled as a knockdown, although it looked as if Glover might have slipped.

Glover threw lots of kicks early in the second round that, while they didn’t score, looked quick and sharp. Glover’s mouthpiece fell out during the round, causing a break. During this break Glover went down to a knee. A body kick halfway through the second round dropped Glover, failing to make the 10 count afterwards.

Bout 3: Josh Augustine (4-1) vs. Muhammad Naimov (4-0) (Featherweight)

Augustine threw jabs and kicks early in the round, using his reach to his advantage. Naimov played a counter striking role, engage and connecting after most of Augustine’s punches.

A leg kick from Naimov connected early in the second round, hurting Augustine. Another leg kick dropped Augustine, making him tap out on the ground. Naimov was loud after the fight, shouting at Augustine and getting in his face.

Bout 4: Trent McCown (8-4) vs. Jared Gooden (16-4) (Welterweight)

McCown landed a few hard strikes early on, causing Gooden to clinch up. They both threw knees to the legs before separating from the clinch. Gooden was scoring with good jabs and crosses in the second minute of the fight. McCown tried for a takedown, with Gooden backing up to the fence and avoiding it. McCown had a flurry of strikes after, throwing at Gooden, who was still against the fence. Gooden caught a leg kick in the third minute, landing punches and dropping McCown. In half guard, Gooden scored with punches and elbows to McCown. He started scoring with knees to the body from the position as well. He stayed in the position landing strikes until the round ended.

Gooden kept a fast pace of striking in the second round, with McCown taking damage and seemingly getting tired. McCown was put against the  cage in the second minute, getting hit with knees to the body and punches to the had. McCown shot for a takedown, with Gooden landing knees and punches from the position. Gooden left the clinch, continuing with punches until the referee ended the fight.
