Billy Quarantillo is set to face Kyle Nelson on September 12th, making them the latest edition to UFC’s show on that date. The matchup was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
Quarantillo has been successful through his first two UFC appearances, defeating Jacob Kilburn and Spike Carlyle. Putting that together with his fights outside of the promotion before, Quarantillo will head into his September bout on a seven-fight winning streak.
Nelson will aim to get his second UFC win in September, with his previous fight being his first win so far. Nelson struggled in his debut year, losing to Diego Ferreira and Matt Sayles via stoppage. A quick and powerful performance over Polo Reyes in September of 2019 finally put Nelson into the win column.
The fight will be Nelson’s first in just under a year. Nelson was scheduled to face Sean Woodson in June, although travel restrictions foiled that plan.
UFC’s September 12th show now had six fights, with the current headlining bout set to be between light heavyweights Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira. Here’s how the card looks as of right now.
