Saturday’s UFC show has lost a bout, as Jared Gooden has pulled out of his UFC debut against Dwight Grant. Gooden announced his withdrawal from the show on Tuesday citing injury.
“Sadly I had to back out due to injuries. Y’all have no idea how bad this hurts me,” said Gooden via Instagram.
It is not known currently whether Grant will get a replacement bout on Saturday’s UFC card. Per a report from Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting, the UFC is currently searching for someone to face Grant.
Gooden’s UFC debut was set to come after a strong series of wins, getting three wins since last October on the regional MMA scene. The most recent of the trio came in July, defeating Trent McCown on a Titan FC card.
Grant was set to look for his third consecutive UFC win, as the American Kickboxing Academy fighter picked up wins over Carlo Pedersoli and Alan Jouban in 2019.
