Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is set to return on October 31st, facing Uriah Hall on a UFC “Fight Night.” News of the booking came on Tuesday via UFC President Dana White at a press conference.
Anderson, now 45-years-old, has lost six of his last eight fights of his career, with his last win being in 2017 over Derek Brunson. His last fight came in May of 2019, losing to Jared Cannonier after a first-round injury ended the fight.
Hall has won his last two fights, with his most recent fight being a win from September of 2019 over Antonio Carlos Junior. Hall has had bad luck in 2020 finding a fight, as bookings against Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero have both been cancelled this year.
Adrian Yanez vs. Aaron Phillips
Also added to the October 31st card is a bantamweight battle between Adrian Yanez and Aaron Phillips. The fight will be the UFC debut for Yanez, who punched his ticket into the UFC on TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series” this August, defeating Brady Huang in under a minute.
Phillips’ last fight was a short-notice return to the UFC, replacing Anderson dos Santos in a fight against Jack Shore. The fight saw Phillips lose, getting caught in a rear naked choke in the second round. The fight was the UFC return for Phillips, as the Louisana-based fighter had fought six-times outside of the UFC since his 2014 to 2015 stint in the promotion ended.
