Rising bantamweights Danaa Batgerel and Kyler Phillips are being looked to join an October 3rd bout on a UFC card. First reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting, the match will see both fighters look to build off of their first respective UFC win.
Batgerel competed on one of the last shows not affected by COVID-19, defeating Guido Cannetti at UFC 248 last March. The victory, a first-round finish, saw Batgerel bounce back from his debut loss, which came against Alatengheili in August of 2019.
Phillips made his UFC debut last February, defeating Gabriel Silva in a “Fight of the Night” performance. Phillips previously was a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter” and also had experience in high-level promotion LFA.
If booked for October 3rd, the bantamweight matchup will join a “Fight Night” card which is expected to be a part of the UFC’s return to “Fight Island” at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
