Miranda Maverick will get her first shot in the UFC at UFC 254, being paired with Liana Jojua in a flyweight matchup. News of the bout, which is scheduled for September 26th, was first reported by Igor Lazorin.
Having spent her entire professional career thus far in all-women’s promotion Invicta FC, Maverick has attained seven wins through nine fights. She last competed in February, picking up a decision win over Pearl Gonzalez.
Maverick won a one-night tournament held by Invicta FC in September of 2019, defeating three fighters including finalist DeAnna Bennett.
Maverick was first scheduled to make her UFC debut last June against Mara Romero Borella, however, Maverick pulled out of that fight on short notice.
The fight will be Jojua’s third bout in the UFC. Her last fight saw her earn her first promotional victory, stopping Diana Belbita in the first round via armbar.
