Kicking off UFC’s card on Saturday night was a flyweight battle between Sabina Mazo and Justine Kish. Here’s how the fight went.
Bout 1: Sabina Mazo (8-1) vs. Justine Kish (7-2) (Flyweight)
Kish came forward with leg kicks right after the round started. Kish pressed forward with strikes in the first minute, connecting with a clean right hand in the minute. Mazo connected with a head kick in the second minute of the fight. A small cut opened beside the left eye of Kish afterwards. Kish continued to connect with numerous leg kicks. Kish caught a leg in the final minute of the round for a takedown. Kish held full guard on top until the round ran out of time.
Kish started the second round aggressively, pressing forward at Mazo with punches and kicks. Kish was able to catch a leg kick in the second minute of the round. Kish landed a head kick just before letting go of Mazo’s leg. More kicks were caught later in the round by Kish.
The first round started with both fighters throwing a quick flurry of strikes at each other. Mazo caught Kish with a head kick early in the final round. Another one connected only moments after. Mazo landed a clean two-punch combination in the third minute of the round. Mazo dropped Kish in the fourth minute of the round with a head kick. She got on the back of Kish on the ground, putting in a rear naked choke that caused a tap out.
