Ludovit Klein has been named the new opponent for Shane Young at UFC 253, replacing Nate Landwehr, who was pulled from the fight due to a positive COVID-19 test. News of the new matchup was first reported by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie on Thursday.
Klein will enter the promotion on a seven-fight streak of wins he built from 2017 to 2020. His last fight was in February, where he stopped Lukasz Sajewski in the first round with strikes.
Young will look for his third straight UFC victory on UFC 253. His last fight dates back to February of 2019, where he picked up a decision win over Austin Arnett at UFC 234.
Young, a product of New Zealand-based gym City Kickboxing will have his teammate Israel Adesanya in the main event. Adesanya is scheduled to put his UFC Middleweight Championship on the line against Paulo Costa, headlining the pay-per-view card on September 26th.
