Saturday’s UFC “Fight Night” saw four fighters earn a “Performance of the Night” bonus for their win.
Khamzat Chimaev, Mackenzie Dern, Damon Jackson and Randy Costa were all given an extra $50,000 on top of their fight purses for their wins on Saturday night at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Chimaev’s win, a one-punch stoppage victory over Gerald Meerschaert, makes him three-for-three in fight bonuses since his UFC debut last July. His previous wins in the promotion came against John Phillips and Rhys McKee in the summer.
The bonus for Dern came after yet another performance that showcased her skills on the ground. Dern’s brief appearance saw her catch Randa Markos with an armbar to win. Dern has finished three of the five opponents she has faced in the UFC.
Jackson’s victory, an upset over Mirsad Bektic, earned him a performance bonus. Jackson, who took his matchup on short notice, was able to stop Bektic in the third round with a guillotine choke.
Costa earned a bonus after stopping Journey Newson in the first with a head kick. Costa’s record now has six wins, all of which have been within a round.
