A light heavyweight headlining bout between Glover Teixeira and Thiago Santos is now being targeted for the third time, being placed on a November 7th card. News of the possible booking was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The bout was previously scheduled for August and September shows, although each time a positive COVID-19 test knocked a fighter out of action.
Should the fight be booked, Teixeira will look to continue his streak of wins he has built through 2019 and 2020. Teixeira earned his fourth-straight victory last May, stopping Anthony Smith in the fifth round with strikes, completing a dominant performance.
The next time Santos fights it will be his return to action following over a year of absence from competition. His last fight came in 2019, losing a controversial fight to Jon Jones, who was the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion at the time.
Here’s the lineup for the UFC’s November 7th card if the headliner gets booked. The location of the event is not known currently.
