UFC 253: William Knight vs. Aleksa Camur Play-by-Play

William Knight and Aleksa Camur, two contract winners on TV show “Dana White’s Contender Series,” fought on Saturday’s pay-per-view card. Their fight went like this.

Bout 3: William Knight (8-1) vs. Aleksa Camur (6-0) (Light Heavyweight)

A leg kick dropped Camur early in the first round. Knight put Camur against the fence in a clinch immediately after. The fighters took turns in control against the cage. The referee split them up in the final minute of the round due to inactivity. Knight scored with another leg kick in the closing seconds of the round. He landed a combination of punches just before the round concluded.

Camur clinched with Knight early in the second round after landing two jabs. He got a trip takedown moments after, getting on the back of Knight on the ground. Camur attempted a rear naked choke from the back before Knight was able to flip over and take full guard on top. Knight tried for a choke as they returned to the feet. Camur escaped the choke quickly, putting Knight against the fence in a clinch. Knight scored his first takedown from the clinch. Getting on the back of Camur, Knight threw a few punches to the head. Camur was able to return to a clinch on the feet in the third minute of the round. Knight scored another takedown from the clinch, getting side control on the ground after. Knight threw a series of punches before getting on the back of Camur in the final minute of the round. Knight was moved into a half guard, although he transitioned into full mount in the final seconds. Knight applied a keylock just before the round ran out of time.

Camur put Knight against the cage early in the third round. Knight got a takedown from the clinch a minute into the round, getting into side control quickly. Knight got on the back of Camur, slipping off eventually. Camur took top position on the ground after getting Knight off of his back. Knight got to his fight with half of the round left. Another takedown went to Knight in the fourth minute of the round. Knight moved into full mount and threw punches with half-a-minute left to work. Knight stayed in control until the fight ran out of time. Knight picked up a victory after three rounds of work (29-28, 30-27 & 30-27).

RESULT: William Knight def. Aleksa Camur via Decision, Unanimous
