Bellator 247 Loses Main Event After Paul Daley Gets Sent To Hospital

Bellator welterweight Paul Daley has been taken out of his October 1st bout against Derek Anderson following medical issues. The issue came after Daley missed weight for his welterweight bout.

News of the change was first reported by Gareth A. Davies.

Daley has since issued a statement on the situation, claiming that he went to the hospital after experiencing “severe cramps.” After not attending the ceremonial weigh-ins, Daley was sent to a hospital for an IV.

Daley said he felt better after a sleep at the hospital while waiting to see a doctor. While he attempted to get Bellator to put the fight back on the card, they were not able to do so.

“I’ve just heard that there’s not a chance [the fight will happen],” said Daley via Instagram.

A flyweight bout between Kate Jackson and Denise Kielholtz has been elevated to main event status following the cancelled bout.
