Elizeu Zaleski has been removed from his UFC 254 bout against Shavkat Rakhmonov due to a knee injury. News of the matchup was first reported by Ag Fight.
It is not known if a replacement opponent will be found for Rakhmonov, who was booked for October 24th, as part of the promotion’s five-week stint at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Zaleski has competed twice in 2020, winning and losing a bout each. He first competed in March, defeating Alexey Kunchenko via decision. His last bout was in July, losing a split decision to Muslim Salikhov.
Rakhmonov, his opponent, is a former M-1 Welterweight Champion. Still undefeated, Rakhmonov still awaits his first bout in the UFC.
Rakhmonov has had bouts cancelled against Bartosz Fabinski and Ramazan Emeev earlier in the year.
