Bantamweight prospects Casey Kenney and Alatengheili fought on UFC’s prelims on Saturday. Their fight went like this.
Bout 2: Casey Kenney (14-2-1) vs. Alatengheili (14-7-1) (Bantamweight)
Kenney landed hard kicks to the legs and body of Alatengheili early on. Both fighters started to connect with head punches in the second minute of the fight. Alatengheili started to bleed from the right ear in the third minute of the round. Kenney was landing a higher volume of significant punches. Alatengheili was being walked down and hurt with punches in the fourth minute of the round. The referee started to warn him to fight back. A pause came in the fourth minute to that Alatengheili could put his mouthguard back in. There was much more damage visible on Alatengheili’s face than Kenney’s.
Kenney scored a head kick early in the second round. Alatengheili landed a counter left in the second round that made Kenney stutter. Like the round before, Kenney walked down and connected with a high volume of punches. Kenney landed a high percentage of what he threw, although Alatengheili absorbed it all.
Kenney continued to throw and connect with a large number of kicks and punches in the third round. The number of strikes slowed down due to fatigue. Kenney had a takedown attempt stopped in the final minute of the fight. Kenney won an all three scorecards at the end (30-25, 30-26 & 30-27).
RESULT: Casey Kenney def. Alatengheili via Decision, Unanimous
