Buckley stunned Kasanganay with punches in the first minute, clinching against the cage after chasing him down. Buckley scored a takedown from a clinch in the third minute of the fight. Kasanganay worked up to his feet, although Buckley stayed pressed against him in a clinch. The fighters continued to trade strikes, both connecting frequently. A leg kick wobbled Buckley in the final minute of the round.
Kasanganay caught a leg kick in the third minute of the second round, although Buckley landed a spinning back kick to the head of Kasanganay to knock him out.
