The PFL will return on April 23rd, kicking off their 2021 regular season which was unveiled on Tuesday. The promotion plans to hold their season in two halves which will take place in April, May and June.
Per a report from Ariel Helwani of ESPN, the promotion’s six events will adopt a “bubble” format in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.
The “1st Half” of the season includes dates on April 23rd, April 29th and May 6th. The first of the three dates lands on a Friday, with the other two being on their usual night, Thursday.
After roughly a month of absence, the “2nd Half” will happen in June with events on the 10th, 17th and 2th5. The trio has two Thursdays in the schedule, ending with a Friday on their final date.
The dates for the promotion’s postseason are not known currently.
The PFL has done two previous seasons of an annual league format that consisted of a 10 to 11 events. A combined 12 fighters won in the 2018 and 2019 seasons run by the league, being awarded $1 million dollars each for their tournament victory.
A 2020 season run by the league was cancelled due to the worldwide spread of COVID-19.
