Shavkat Rakhmonov got his long overdue UFC debut on the UFC 254 prelims on Saturday against Alex Oliveira. His debut went like this.
Bout 4: Alex Oliveira (22-8-1) vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov (12-0) (Welterweight)
Rakhmonov stunned Oliveira with a combination of strikes in the second minute of the round, landing a knee to the body. The fighters fought for control in a clinch against the fence halfway through the round. Oliveira looked for a takedown from the position, although Rakhmonov applied a guillotine choke from the position. Rakhmonov pulled guard with the choke, keeping the pressure with it until Oliveira tapped out.
RESULT: Shavkat Rakhmonov def. Alex Oliveira via Submission, Guillotine Choke (RD 1, 4:40)
