Early in the fight, Murphy was walking down Shakirova, who was staying active and bouncing around on her feet. Shakirova shot for a single leg takedown in the second minute of the round that Murphy stopped. Shakirova looked for another single leg takedown in the final minute of the round that Murphy was able to stop in a clinch.
Like the first round, Murphy walked Shakirova down with strikes early in the second round. Shakirova threw her own strikes as well, although they did not connect much. Murphy was able to score a takedown from a clinch halfway through the round. Murphy took the back of Shakirova in the fourth minute of the fight, putting in a rear naked choke that caused a tap, ending the fight.
