Chase Hooper will aim to bounce back from his first loss as a pro at UFC 256, as he has been booked against Peter Barrett for the show. News of the pairing for the December 12th pay-per-view event was first reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
The event is expected to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Hooper took his first loss as a pro in June, losing to Alex Caceres at UFC 250. His fight in December of 2019 was his debut as a pro, stopping Daniel Teymur late in the first round with strikes.
Hooper, 21, has been known throughout his MMA career for being a quick learning youngster.
Hooper made his first appearance on UFC programming in 2018, defeating Canaan Kawaihae on “Dana White’s Contender Series.” He fought three more times on the regional scene before making his debut in the UFC.
Barrett was another success story from the “Contender Series,” defeating Sang Hoon Yoo in the 2019 season to be given a contract.
Barrett lost his UFC debut in August to Youssef Zalal via decision.
