A series of fights have been added to Bellator’s November 5th card set to happen at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA. Here’s what’s new for the Bellator 251 card.
Tyrell Fortune vs. Said Sowma
Sowma claimed the Titan FC belt in September, stopping veteran fighter Bobby Brents in the third round with strikes. The win stretched Sowma’s win-streak to six-in-a-row.
Fortune will look for his first win of 2020 on the card. Fortune took his first loss as a pro in February, being stopped by Timothy Johnson in the first round.
His last fight, a bout in September, ended unceremoniously after a knee to the groin took Jack May out of the fight, ruling it a no contest.
Austin Vanderford vs. Chris Curtis
Austin Vanderford will return on the card, being paired against former PFL fighter Chris Curtis. Marc Raimond of ESPN reported the matchup on Sunday.
Vanderford, a nine-fight undefeated pro, last competed in November, defeating Grachik Bozinyan at Bellator 234. He currently has three wins within the promotion.
Curtis will make his Bellator debut in the fight. Curtis competed in the 2019 PFL season, winning one fight and losing three within a six-month period. He took his first fight outside of the PFL in January, defeating Darren Smith Jr. on a regional card.
Derek Anderson vs. Killys Mota
Anderson was meant to compete in October against Paul Daley, although weight cut issues for Daley took him out of what was going to be a main event fight.
Anderson’s last win was in October of 2019, defeating Guilherme Bomba via decision.
Mota competed in October of 2019 as well, handing Mandel Nallo his first loss at Bellator 231.
Looking to snap a two-fight losing streak in the promotion, Nainoa Dung will fight Piankhi Zimmerman. The lightweight matchup was reported by Mike Heck of MMA Fighting on Monday.
Per Dan Doherty of Cageside Press, the pro debut of bantamweight fighters Jaylon Bates and Joe Supino will also be on the card.
