The UFC is looking to add a strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson to UFC 257 pay-per-view in January. The potential matchup was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The location for the January 23rd even is not known currently.
Should the fight be booked, it would be a chance for Ribas to continue the strong run she has had since her UFC debut. Four fights into her promotional run, Ribas has yet to lose.
Her fourth victory came in July, defeating Paige VanZant via armbar within a round at UFC 251.
Waterson’s last fight saw her snap a two-fight losing streak. Defeating Angela Hill via split decision in a five-round fight, Waterson took her first win after losses to Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza.
Three bouts are currently scheduled for the UFC 257 card. Here’s the lineup.
Bout 3: Jessica Eye (15-8) vs. Joanne Calderwood (14-5) (Flyweight)
Bout 2: Brad Tavares (17-6) vs. Antonio Carlos Junior (10-4) (Middleweight)
Bout 1: Michelle Waterson (18-8) vs. Amanda Ribas (10-1) (Strawweight)
