UFC Featherweight Champion Amanda Nunes has been pulled from her December 12th fight against Megan Anderson, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
The fight was scheduled to headline UFC 256, a pay-per-view event which is set to happen in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
“Wishing Amanda a speedy recovery … UFC are rescheduling the bout for a date early next year,” said Anderson, reacting to the news of Nunes’ departure from the card via Twitter.
It is not known currently why Nunes withdrew from the card.
UFC 256 now only has one title fight, as a bantamweight bout between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling is booked for the card still.
News of the fight was first reported back in August. Nunes last competed in June, defeating Felicia Spencer to defend her featherweight belt for the first time.
