A featherweight main event between Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar has been booked for a January 16th UFC card, as announced on Tuesday. The fight is Holloway’s first non-championship bout since 2016.
The location of the fight is not known currently.
Holloway, the former UFC Featherweight Champion, lost his belt in late 2019 with a decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski. A rematch in July was another win for Volkanovski, giving him his first title defence.
Holloway claimed the featherweight belt in 2017 after a win over Jose Aldo. He defended it twice during his run as a champion.
Kattar has been on the rise in the featherweight division through 2020. After a May win over Jeremy Stephens, Kattar returned in July to take a decision win over Dan Ige. The fight was Kattar’s first five-round bout as a pro.
Here’s the updated card for January 16th.
