Two Bouts Rebooked For December 5th UFC Card

Two fights that were scheduled for last Saturday’s UFC card have found a new home on the promotion’s December 5th event. The fights are set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Jose Alberto Quinonez vs. Louis Smolka

After their fight on Saturday was cancelled, a bout between Jose Alberto Quinonez and Louis Smolka will be given another go in December. First reported by Carlos Contreras Legaspi of Milenio, the fight will join the card.

Saturday’s fight between the bantamweights was cancelled after Smolka had a botched weight cut, coming in three pounds over the non-championship limit for the weight class.

Smolka lost his last fight, being submitted in the first round by Casey Kenney.

Quinonez’s last fight was a loss as well, being finished in the first round to Sean O’Malley in March.

Gabriel Benitez vs. Justin Jaynes

A fight between Gabriel Benitez and Justin Jaynes has also been placed on the card. News of the fight was first announced by Jaynes via Instagram on Monday.

Their last fight was cancelled after Benitez tested positive for COVID-19.

Benitez lost in his return to action in May, dropping a decision to Omar Morales. His previous fight was an August 2019 loss to Sodiq Yusuff.

Jaynes took his first UFC loss in August, being caught by a rear naked choke in the third round by Gavin Tucker.

The December 5th show is currently scheduled to have a headlining fight between Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland. Here’s the updated lineup.
