Flyweight fighter Jussier Formiga has reportedly been released by the UFC after 16 fights in the promotion. News of his release was reported by Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting on Sunday.
Formiga had lost his last three fights in the UFC, dropping bouts to high-level flyweights like Joseph Benavidez, Brandon Moreno and Alex Perez.
Formiga had put together a four-fight streak of wins prior to his recent losing streak.
Formiga entered the UFC in 2012 after a strong 15-fight run on the regional MMA scene.
Formiga is the only person who has beaten Deiveson Figueiredo, who became the UFC Flyweight Champion in July. Other notable wins from Formiga have come against Sergio Pettis and Ulka Sasaki.
