High-level lightweights Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira will fight on UFC’s December 12th pay-per-view card, per a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN. The fight joins a card which is expected to happen in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Ferguson last fought in May, facing Justin Gaethje for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship. The fight took place after COVID-19 restrictions caused a fight between Ferguson and UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to be cancelled earlier in the year.
Ferguson lost the fight, being finished in the fifth round with punches from Gaethje. The loss snapped a 12-fight win streak that dated back to 2013.
Oliveira has been on a streak of his own recently, attaining seven wins from 2018 to present. He headlined a “Fight Night” card in March, where he defeated Kevin Lee in the third round with a guillotine choke.
