Headlining light heavyweight Anthony Smith was one of the four fighters given a “Performance of the Night” award for his win on Saturday’s UFC “Fight Night” card. Along with Smith were Miguel Baeza, Su Muderji and Nate Maness after their wins at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
All performance bonus winners were awarded an extra $50,000 on top of their previously negotiated fight purses.
Smith picked up a first-round victory in the main event, stopping Devin Clark in the third minute with a triangle choke. Being his seventh consecutive headlining bout, Smith broke a two-fight skid of losses that developed earlier in the year.
Baeza remained undefeated in the co-main event, stopping Takashi Sato late in the second round with an arm triangle choke. Now with three wins in the UFC, Baeza picked up his first submission win as a pro.
Mudaerji won in the second bout of the evening, stopping Malcolm Gordon within a minute with strikes. The win was Mudaerji’s first via stoppage since joining the UFC.
Maness won in the opening fight on the card, putting in a rear naked choke after dropping Luke Sanders with punches in the first round. The fight was held at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
