Undefeated Miguel Baeza fought Takashi Sato in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC “Fight Night” card. Their three-round bout went like this.
Bout 9: Miguel Baeza (9-0) vs. Takashi Sato (16-3) (Welterweight)
The fight started slow as the fighters were in a feeling out process. A pause came in the fight after Sato was accidentally struck in the groin. Baeza was active with kicks to the body throughout the round. Baeza landed two hard knees to the head of Sato in a clinch in the fourth round.
A cut opened below the right eye of Sato before the second round started. Baeza had sharp and patient striking in the second round as well. Baeza scored a takedown in the fourth minute, taking the back of Sato on the ground. Baeza switched between throwing strikes and looking for submissions from the position. He moved into side control with an arm triangle choke that made Sato tap out.
