Trio of Fights Added To UFC’s Super Bowl Weekend Event

Three bouts have been added to UFC’s February 6th “Fight Night” card. The fights join a show which is set to happen during NFL’s Super Bowl weekend, taking place an evening before the championship football game.

The location of the fights is not known at the moment.

Beneil Dariush vs. Diego Ferreira

Ranked lightweights Beneil Dariush and Diego Ferreira have been matched for the card. The fight was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

Dariush is currently on a hot five-fight win streak that dates back to 2018. His last fight was a win in August, defeating Scott Holtzman in the first round with a spinning backfist.

Dariush had an explosive victory earlier in the year as well, stopping Drakkar Klose with strikes at UFC 248.

Ferreira is also on a streak, as he has won six-straight fights from 2016 to the present. His last win was in January, where he caught Anthony Pettis in the second round with a rear naked choke.

Clay Guida vs. Michael Johnson

UFC veterans Clay Guida and Michael Johnson will both aim to return to the win column when they face each other in February. Guida announced the fight last week via Instagram.

Guida has lost in his last two outings. His most recent appearance was in June, where he lost a decision to Bobby Green. His previous fight was a 2019 loss to Jim Miller, where Guida was finished in under a minute with a guillotine choke.

Bouts from 2019 and 2020 have put Johnson on a three-fight skid. He returned to the octagon in May, where Thiago Moises submitted him in the second round with an ankle lock.

Seung Woo Choi vs. Steven Peterson

Featherweights Seung Woo Choi and Steven Peterson will meet on the card as well. The fight was first reported by Cole Shelton of MyMMANews.

The fight sees the return of Choi and Peterson after both being absent for 2020.

Choi won his last appearance, defeating Suman Mokhtarian via decision on a card in late 2019. The fight was his first win in the UFC and snapped a two-fight skid.

Peterson also snapped a two-fight skid in his last showing, defeating Martin Bravo in 2019 with a spinning backfist.
