Both fighters were working a quick pace with strikes early on. Topuria landed an uppercut to the head as Jackson came forward for a clinch. Topuria landed a clean two-punch combination in the second minute. A cut opened on the nose of Jackson halfway through the round. After hurting Jackson with an uppercut to the body, Topuria landed a two-punch combo that floored him, causing the fight to end.
