UFC 256: Tecia Torres vs. Sam Hughes Play-by-Play

Stepping in on short notice, Sam Hughes fought Tecia Torres on the prelims of UFC 256. Here’s how their fight went.

Bout 2: Tecia Torres (11-5) vs. Sam Hughes (5-1) (Strawweight)

Torres was putting together quick combinations of strikes early. She threw a combo of punches in the opening minute that put Hughes up against the cage. Hughes clinched with Torres against the cage. They separated a minute later. Torres continued to succeed on the feet, landing a superman punch in the third minute. Hughes caught a leg in the final minute, although caught to do anything with it. Torres finished the round with a takedown. The fight was stopped in-between rounds after she said she couldn’t see out of an eye.

RESULT: Tecia Torres def. Sam Hughes via TKO, Doctor Stoppage (RD 1, 5:00)
