Former UFC fighter Teruto Ishihara, also known as Yashabo Ishihara, will make his return to action on a January 31st Shooto Japan card.
While an opponent for Ishihara has not been revealed, his appearance was announced by the promotion on Wednesday.
The fight will take place at the New Pier Hall in Tokyo, Japan, with crowd restrictions in place due to Greater Tokyo’s current state of emergency.
The fight will be Ishihara’s first after a nine-fight run in the UFC. Ishihara competed in the UFC from 2015 to 2019, putting together a promotional record of three wins, five losses and one draw.
Ishihara’s last fight was in February of 2019, where he was stopped within a round by Kyung Ho Kang. The loss for Ishihara was his fifth in six fights.
Ishihara competed in Shooto Japan in the early days of his career back in 2011 to 2013.
