UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic will face Francis Ngannou in a rematch on March 27th, joining the UFC 260 pay-per-view card.
First reported by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie, the heavyweight title fight joins a growing card that does not have a location confirmed for it at the moment.
The fight will be Ngannou’s second chance at a title. He lost his first championship fight in early 2018, taking a decision loss to Miocic. The fight was the third time Miocic defended his UFC Heavyweight Championship during his first run with the belt.
Miocic had his first stint with the 265-pound belt stopped in 2018, as Daniel Cormier finished him within a round with punches. Miocic has since won back the belt and defended it once, defeating Cormier twice in a trilogy series of fights.
Ngannou finds himself back in the title picture after a four-fight win streak from 2019 to 2020. His last win was in May of 2020, where he steamrolled the previously undefeated Jairzinho Rozenstruick, stopping him only 20 seconds into a fight with punches.
The heavyweight clash is now part of a pay-per-view event that also has a featherweight title fight in the lineup. Here’s the updated lineup.
Bout 4: Alexander Volkanovski (22-1) vs. Brian Ortega (15-1) (UFC Featherweight Championship)
