UFC’s February 6th “Fight Night” event has lost a fight, as Alex da Silva has withdrawn from a fight against Devonte Smith. The departure of da Silva which is due to undisclosed reasons was first reported by Nolan King and Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
The fight was set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It is not known at the moment if Smith can get a new opponent for his fight, as it is set to happen in a week.
Both fighters were looking to return following a loss.
Smith last fought in 2019, where he was stopped within a round by Khama Worthy. The loss was Smith’s first after two previous wins in the UFC.
Da Silva competed more recently, losing a decision to Brad Riddell in September.
UFC’s February 6th card is down to 13 fights without the lightweight matchup between da Silva and Smith.
