Timur Valiev has been given a new opponent for his February 6th fight, as Julio Arce has left the matchup and been replaced by Martin Day. The change in opponent for Valiev was first reported by Rob DeMello on Friday.
The new bantamweight pairing joins a show that is set to happen at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It is not known currently why Arce withdrew from the fight.
Day will attempt to break a three-fight losing streak with the short-notice match. Day took two losses in 2020, getting finished in fights against Davey Grant and Anderson dos Santos.
Valiev’s UFC debut was spoiled in August, as huge underdog Trevin Giles stopped him in the second round with ground and pound. The result was later overturned due to a drug test to Giles coming back positive for marijuana.
